ENVIRONMENTAL
Champion Concrete will provide an environmental management plan to fit your project’s specific needs. We have the ability to recycle waste concrete, wash water, and aggregate to help reduce spoils from the operation. Each individual is trained when hired and annually to assure our sites continue to stay clean.
These filters located in the filter press, compress and filter the cement slurry, capturing cementitious material and allowing clean water to exit into a holding tank.
In recent years Champion Concrete, Inc. has switched to an eco-friendly and safer way of mitigating high pH levels of wash water. By utilizing CO2 injection, concrete suppliers no longer need to turn to sodium bisulfate to equalize their concrete wash water. Water is collected into weir pits to be recycled / reused to minimize total water usage.
During mobilization, environmental considerations are taken into account. We have multiple facilities that reclaim concrete to reduce the waste of aggregate and spoil piles. The rock, sand, and cement slurry separate. This allows possible re-use of material if client approves, and a lesser amount of spoils being sent to be recycled.
Champion has experience in securing job specific environmental permits in multiple states to allow an on-site concrete plant or off-site in close proximity of the project. We obtain both air permits and SWPPP for each operation unless specified otherwise.
The clean water is conditioned to equalize the pH. The conditioned water is recycled for washing equipment, mixer truck drum rinses, and dust suppression.
